The intense pulsed light is absorbed by the melanin pigment in hair, changing it from light energy to heat energy. This heat is transferred to the base of the hair, disabling them. Providing they are in an active stage of hair growth (Anagen stage).

This is a multi-procedural treatment. If a course is followed correctly, a significant reduction in hair production can be seen.
